The second set of postcards from Takato Yamamoto is a lovely box of 12 postcards. The box is printed with silver on the front and has a little window cut out of it so you can see the ’postcard colletion’ card (this is in addition to the 12 and is in the far right of the picture above. The box itself measures approximately 4.5" x 6.25". The postcards are about 4.125" x 5.875". Very beautiful packaging. Limited edition of 1000.
The first card features a young person laying next to a school book bag with bloody beasts hanging overhead.
The second card features a partially dressed person shrinking away from a bloody skeleton with long, sharp teeth and a particularly long tongue that he is sticking out at her/him.
The third card features a young person with two brads, sitting in a lush green forest filled with wild strawberries, a large moth, and a snake.
The fourth card features a young blonde girl (?) sitting on a rocky precipice under a full moon with smoke curling around her; a bloody rag sits near one of her feet.
The fifth card features a young person in a lovely yellow kimono with a pattern of red spiderwebs and butterflies. She/he has lost one of his geta and has dropped the skull she/he was carrying.
The sixth card features a partially dressed geisha passionately embracing a well-dressed skeleton. There’s a red moon in the background and she has a lovely kimono with plum blossoms, spiderwebs and butterflies.
The seventh card features a school girl tied up in bed with two severed hands on her body, a fat frog sitting on the windowsill behind here, and a red moon outside.
The eighth card features two people dressed in French maid uniforms. They are seen from outside the window.
The ninth card features two young men embracing on a butchers block with a severed pigs head on the floor, a bloody knife, and some giant yellow flowers.
The tenth card features a half dressed young girl laying on a bed next to the window. There is a yellow moon, an old tree, and a rooster outside.
The eleventh card features a girl dressed in a victorian costume with several items packed tightly around her - flowers, a doll’s head, a red purse, a large eyeball, a comb, stone carvings, leaves, etc.
The twelth card features a boy with ropes strung loosely around his neck and several items packed tightly around him - large white flowers, a teddy bear’s head, rocks, a few eyeballs, etc..
